Have you heard? Do you still remember the second son of Einhasad and Gran Kain? His name’s Sayha and we haven’t heard of him a lot, have we? But we remember that he gave the spirit of wind to Einhasad and co-created the fourth race. And for years we’ve kept asking “Arteias who?” Well, you know. They’re the freedom-loving and ever-curious fragile winged race that once served the Giants as their messengers. They’re the race we’ve always wondered about. Well, it seems NCsoft has finally decided that it’s time to whip them out. Out of a dimension or something of the sort. As usual, there’ll be two classes and they promise some pleasurable (solo) hunting experience for both of them, as well as some nice PvP (- ain’t it always?). NCsoft doesn’t say much, but the race should be distinct from the other ones, so that it’d bring something new (/fresh) to the game. They only hinted that Arteias (Ertheia) should be able to move quickly and work with the space between themselves and their opponent. By their own account, the people of NCsoft promise an organic integration of the new race. Thoughts?

Huh. I wondered how long it would be until we saw them. Strikes me about the same as how the kamael launched.

And there's more from the new chapter of Lineage II - Epic Tale of Aden. It seems that they're locked out somewhere between Talking Island and Gracia. This is their village (which looks like something that got ripped out of Aion): And their (low-level, I imagine) Hunting Zones: And these are the classes: My only pending question is (and I really don't mean to sound sexist) - could this really be a women-only race?

Thank you for the info. I find it hard to believe that they would release a female only race. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm interested in the lore bits that will come with the new area.

I guess I didn't expect that NCsoft would go ahead and create female characters that look like this (i.e. Dwarf torso glued onto Dark Elf size legs; huge eyes, flappy ears and an embarassing/clumsy Female-Human-Mage way of running). Silly me. It's just not what I would've associated with the traits of the Arteias we (barely) know from The Legend. Maybe it's only because I haven't had the time to play the game for several weeks, but the race design still strikes me as kind of perverse. (The second reason might be that I currently study fashion design and I'm once too often brought face to face with the way our (girl) students depict their models - they look like the smiley Arteia from the first post, except they're not smiling and don't have the flappy ears - the model's torso almost seems attached to somebody else's pair of legs. Not to mention extreme scoliosis. I find it appalling and kind of disturbing. I guess they watch too much Disney's Frozen and Hentai. But that's just my opinion.)

That's a very fair opinion! Living with Dori, I can tell you that she wasn't attacking your concept of "creepy" but looking for clarification.
I think we'll make one each, but I doubt we'll do much with them. More than anything, I think that we'll use them for fashion models, but that's about it.

I think they're about to whip out the men next week, but I'm not sure. I'd say they'll be the new object of desire for cradle robbers. You know, looking back, I think I got a little too upset. I'm sorry. Now I'm getting used to the Ertheias' looks, but - in some cases - still find myself seeing their petticoats first. I'm sure they'll be fine, they're perfectly lovable, but I still like the Kamaels and Dark Elves (and Zaphne) best.

I certainly hope they do bring out males. It just doesn't feel right to have an all female race.
Olo was correct in the reasoning for my question. I was merely curious. They do seem to like to show a lot of under boob and panties. I'm interested to see how they play.

So it is confirmed, no male Ertheia. Here are a few character creation videos for your perusal. And as a special note to Ewald: I highly recommend you not watch the Ertheia run. It is indeed disturbing.

Oh, do you mean this? (I find myself getting used to them the more I see them.)
I still hope they'll decide to create male characters. I just can't see myself creating a character and a background story for a female Ertheia. And the Alchemist class looks quite interesting. I hope it'll work well.
P.S.: So far, the males are embedded in the system.

All right, I give up my case. Background stories make things better.
It seems they really don't have men. So they need Elmoreden's knights in shining armour. But they still have some cool tricks up their sleeves.

A) I want to see/hear this in English. I can almost taste the Lore.
B) I wonder when they are expecting to release this Chronicle. Anyone know the average time between KR PTS and NA PTS/release?
Thanks for the teasers, Ewald!

- My pleasure. I'm looking forward to the English version, too. The only thing I know is that the friendly male Human in the dark armour is Kain van Holter. But since I don't know anything about him, I'm not sure it helps at all. // Now I realised that it's most probably misspelled. It could be Kain van Halter. Which would mean that he could be Astair van Halter's young boy and therefore a prince of Elmore. (He does use the word "Elmore" in the trailer. It's the only one I recognised.) But that's just a speculation. (But if he's him, I wonder, where's the envoy of Aden's king Amadeo Cadmus?) The last Korean update - Epeisodion - was launched at the beginning of May 2013. It's Western equivalent - Valiance - was launched yesterday. But that doesn't mean that Ertheia won't come sooner than seven months after the Korean launch. But it's still being tested, anyway. // Realisation no. 2 - Oh, you asked about the PTS launch (God, I'm slow). I'm not sure about that. I noticed something when looking at the NPCs. See the middle one's feet? - Is that footgear? And this is a proof that there are male Ertheias. It's the only one, an NPC, but it counts. (Now I'm perfectly sure they're going to be toyboys.) Here's a size comparison:

Oooh! Love that gear on the dark elves? What is that?
I think the "paws" may actually be their feet. Though I wonder how they get them into shoes...

Sadly, I don't think we have access to that gear. I only know it's connected to an event (a Korean event). But I'll dig for more info.
I thought so at first, but then I looked through the female PC's looks and they have the usual pair of five-fingered feet. But the Erheia NPCs are indeed endowed with three-fingered paws and high ankles. But it's NCsoft. This kind of discrepancy no longer surprises me. (>_>

The gear is called something like Assassin Suit. We don't have it yet, but similar suits like Ninja Suit came into the game through the in-game L2 Store, I think. Sometimes there's even a limited supply and these suits are not exactly cheap.
