Name: Zalryne Race: Orc Class: Mystic to Overlord Hello all I talked to some of you on the L2 message board already. I'm new to L2 and looking for a guild, the fact this guild was classified as an evil guild had my interest. I was told an overlord would be a good clan-buffer so I thought I would give it a try. My in game name is Zalryne, feel free to say hello

Hey there, welcome! I was going to say hi to you in the official forums, but I guess someone already did so Welcome to our forums, and hope to catch up with you in game soon. And maybe we should also guide you a little through things, since you're new to L2! The first question I'd pose to you, who recommended you an Overlord? Yes, they are an interesting class and clan-buffer, but I personally would have suggested a Warcryer, since you would be more useful outside the clan as well. Warcryers are party buffers, so you would be able to find groups even outside the clan as well. And their buffs are very interesting as well! In any case, you'll have time till you make your decision! In the meantime, welcome I'm the alt-queen of the clan and I promise not to confuse you... too much Feel free to pm one of the characters on my signature if you want to chat, but if you really want to be safe, just PM Kiltain. He's my SE and it's VERY likely he'll be online at some point

Thanks Actually Warcryer and Overlord were both suggested, I just wasn't sure which to pick hehe. I wanted to be beneficial to the clan so I thought Overlord would be nice, but ah well. I can see your point on being useful everywhere. I'll definitely look for you in-game, my character's name is Zalryne there as well though I think I may have said that in last post, oh well in any case! So far I've got my orc up to level 8 and got Chillflame, it's rather nice, and the newbie benefits allow me to use these rather nice knuckles that appear to last for 3 hours... though I have 5 more coupons I'm not sure if I can use them to get another set of knuckles, or even if knuckles are what I should be using hehe. I hope to get more acquainted with you all soon! Feel free to post any advice too Thanks again!

Welcome! Hopefully we'll all get a chance to catch you ingame soon, if you need any help or have any questions feel free to pm in-game or on the forums. In-game the best character to pm would be Cazaure since he is always logged in when I'm online Just incase your unsure about how to pm another player, this is how to do it. "Cazaure [type your message] Warcryer would probably be the better choice buff wise, but still most people don't actucally look for partys outside the clan/alliance anyway so you wouldn't have to worry to much but it can be a hard road to go down since both Overlord and Warcryer don't really start to shine till the late 60s. If your going to play a Orc Mystic, once your in your level 20s. You'll be struck with a choice of setup for equipment. You will be able to get masteries in every type of armour, Robe/Light/Heavy. So you'll have to ask yourself what you prefer to do the most, Melee using heavy armour, with Soulcry and being able to drain back your hp after every few mobs it isn't to bad but heavy will seriously slow down your casting speed. Robe, basically playing a nuker role while leveling, some people prefer it but the drain skill is very mp costy and there will be a lot of times where you'd have to be sitting to rest for mp. You'd have the lowest Physical Defence but a fast casting speed with an MP bonus from the robes. Light is in a way a mixture of the both, it'll give you a better casting speed than in heavy but still nothing like with Robes. To cut it short, Heavy is what I'd prefer to use when leveling from 20-40, Meleeing and Nuking to manage HP. Robes is good to use if you like to play a more nuker role while leveling alone but is also a good choice for when partying since it gives you more MP and a faster cast speed to give what buffs you can and also use your AoE (Area of effect) and DoT (Damage over time) skills.

welcome zalryne! we spoke earlier on the official forums and i have as well a bit of advice for you. no matter how you choose to play your character, how about we learn how to play the game before we become masters of the setups/grouping/exp spots. ok ? so, chillflame is a great Damage-over-time spell... do you feel youre running low on mana too early? are you sitting often? do you get discouraged when it doesnt take effect on the monsters? also, how much money have you accumulated so far? what are you doing to make sure your costs are low? if we get you into the academy i'll personally assist you with your academy armor if management approves also, which weapon have you chosen to use? i see the Fists are the weapon of choice for you for now, but have you ever thought about using a Dagger?

Oh our boys have such nice hints for you there, Zalryne!
I still say Warcryer, despite anything, would be a better choice. But Cazzie's right there, it's a patient road ahead of you there!
If anything else, Spuddy here has nice hints for you. Caz as well, as many of our residents too. I have a lvl 50 warcryer so I can give you SOME idea on how the road you'll be following will be, although I'm not an expert on Orcs at all!
In any case, hope to talk to you soon!

Greets, new person! ;D I've an hour's window of availability tonight wherein I can invite you into clan, starting roughly about 5:30pm EST. After that, I'll likely be gone a good couple of weeks and someone else will have to get you the invite into academy. PM me on Jhaelle or Salerna. if we get you into the academy i'll personally assist you with your academy armor if management approves Will make it so as soon as she's in clan, and I appreciate your volunteering, Spuddy. ....there's something I'm forgetting... Ah! Yes! <grins impishly> Sell your soul for a cookie?

Welcome from me as well Nice to see your app here! I have a set of viper fangs in my alt warehouse you can borrow (if you'll return them when you're done so I can loan them to the next person I'd appreciate it). They are top no-grade fists and will help level a lot. As for class, on the forums you asked me which orc mystic was more valuable to a clan--hence my answer. As has been said, that probably isn't the ultimate question. The best question for you to ask is which looks like it will be more fun for you as you study the skills they get at each level. First things first as Spuddy says. Learn to manuever, do the newbie quests for free soul shots (I think you can get 12,000 or so all together as you level). These are clutch! Learn to play your toon. Learn to PRESERVE your adena (run rather than port, don't buy multiple low NG armors, etc.). As for "how" to level an orc mystic at first--I don't have much experience. As I told you earlier, I tried my first one as a damage-over-time caster and absolutely hated it. My general advice would be to level any orc mage as a MELEE toon through the first 40 levels--though others might advise you differently. At any rate--take your time, look around, chat with folks, enjoy the scenery and don't be in a hurry. The game is fun to PLAY--particularly with good clanmates. Levels will come eventually. I'll try to catch you through this evening. Again, welcome! ~D~

Hey all I'm on right now, trying out one of those Kamael's at the moment, everyone made the orc sound pretty rough for a first character lol >.> But don't feel bad. These Kamael's are neat, this first quest gave me a full set of armor equal to like the 2nd or 3rd set of no grade shop armor. They kind of remind me of the guy you play as on Actraiser II if anyone played that one. Anywho my Kamael's name is Escarina. Hope to hear from someone in game soon.

Ahh sorry you couldn't find me, I'm on though, like I said name is Escarina. So far this Kamael is playing alot more friendly than that orc was hehe. And the whole one wing thing is neat (to me anyways) and their voices seem to have this eerie ghostly echo thing to them which makes them even more evil like. Though I'm torn between following the arbalest path or playing with sword/magic, not sure what those off classes do.

Too bad that the resident arbalester is out of town for two weeks, Zalryne, because he could really give you some neat advice. But let me check some of the threads that he explained, so you have an idea. As a personal opinion, if I had a female Kamael, I would go arbalester. They have very interesting skills, very useful too, and they do a lot of damage. I have a male Soul Breaker, so I can give you some ideas of how the class is, and I know enough of the arbalester class to give you some hints too. I'll try to catch you in game now, if I manage to connect

Orc or one wing chicken?
Try Sorcerer!!!!!
j/k. Both are fun to play. Just try both for several level and then decide which suits your play style. (i am a melee type of guy and used to play a SwS, but after ppl said how hard a Sorcerer is I made one and never look back)
