He sits back against the wall gazing at the fountains of Heine. "Ahhh, these blood stains are hard to remove." he says to no one in particular as he scrubs his breastplate. "Tonight was a good hunt." he thinks. "No one got hurt seriously and the enemy has fallen in great numbers."
"What a group of blood thirsty warriors." he chuckles as he picks a bit of bone from between his armored plates. Memories and images flit through his mind as he works, "My first time to lead the charge. What a honor! I hope I did well in the eyes of all? Many new faces were present and we all fought as if there was a long time bond between us."
His thoughts go back to the beginning of the final assault.
It was with some fear that night as I entered the water and swam across the shoals to the isle of Crocs. We formed on the beach. We creeped up the bank to see what might be about and there they stood. Such hugh monsters gave this ol dwarf the shivers.
We cautiously backed off and counciled on a plan of attack. Most beasts were grouped close together but one beast was apart of the others, so we decided to see how it would go and selected it for our first target.
I charged, not knowing the outcome but trusting that my comrades would support me to the end. I struck the first blow a crushing stun that brought sparks to the beasts head. but it recovered all to quickly. The beast and I traded blow after blow. Then our band fell upon it with a blood lust I had never experienced before.
I never received such a beating but the beast was taking more. Orc after Orc rippped into its flesh. Bolts of pure energy crushed its frame. the assassins blade thrust deep. Then, when I began to dispair from the monsters blows, I felt a renewed strength as spells of health came from many directions.
The mighty beast shuddered its death quake as it thumped to the ground dead before us. What a shout of victory arose from our hearty band. We looked around to seek more prey, the tast of blood captured my very soul.
Again and again we charged. Beast after beast lay dead in our path as our blood lust increased. Finially we were exausted. Our supplies depleated. Some were wounded and had to seek medical attention. But no spirits were dimmed and no heart was saddened. We few, we brave, we banded warriors were undefeated.
Hazzah Hazzah Hazzah
Such are my thoughts as I lay aside my armor, closing my eyes and drifting into the sweet blessings of sleep.
I wish you well
Ael.
