The heat from the sun was pounding down on her shoulders as she stared down the hill, looking at the beautiful house surrounded by orchards. He had done well for himself, apparently the scrawny boy had learned a thing or two since the last time they had seen each other. Vedette slowly ambled down the hill towards the beautiful home. She stopped to pluck a juicy red apple from one of the trees. She pulled out her dagger and carefully sliced the fruit. Those tending to the orchards just watched her cautiously, they dare not get in her path and she knew it. As she drew nearer to the massive front door, she passed by a window that gave her the perfect view into the dining area. Tobias and his family were having a hearty breakfast, too bad it was about to end abruptly. She knocked on the door, and an elderly dwarf answered. He looked up at her, "Yes? Can I help you?" Vedette merely flashed an evil grin, as she took a bite from her apple. The dwarf backed away slowly, "Please, wait here ma'am." A moment later, Tobias appeared at the door, an aggressive expression on his face. That expression was soon replaced with astonishment and fear at the sight of the beautiful yet deadly looking dark elf at his door. "Hello Tobias, I've come to collect...what you promised me"
The scared human hurriedly shut the door and led Vedette around to the side of his home. "Vedette, can it really be? How...I...I thought I'd never see you again, it's been too long." Vedette merely looked at him, a blank expression on her face. "Why um...why are you here?" She flashed a grin and began to walk, "Do you remember what you said to me the last time we were together?" Tobias faked a friendly laugh, "Well technically, the first time was the last time we saw each other." Vedette turned and shot him a look that sent chills down his spine. "To be completely honest Vedette, I've tried to forget that day. I have a different life now, I have a family." She huffed, "Family...yes I saw that." Tobias moved in front of her and placed his hands on her shoulders, "I have a family thanks to you," he looked around him, "I have everything because of you." Vedette's expression at the sound of these words was one of pure disgust, she hadn't come here for this! "Dammit Tobias! I'm here because after I saved your life, you promised me that one day you repay your debt to me. I need your help, that's the only reason I came all this way." He took a step back and looked her over, feeling slightly foolish. "Oh, I see. Well then, what can I help you with?" Vedette looked down, wondering how she would put the words. She knew he would object, this went against his teachings and his beliefs. But he made an oath, it was time he fulfilled it. "Vedette?" She looked up at him, "I need you to help me kill Cerberus." Tobias' face drained to a ghostly white, he looked like he was going to be sick. "Perhaps we should go inside, I don't think it would be wise to carry on this conversation where prying ears might hear. Come." He led her through the servant's entrance in the back of his home, looking around cautiously to see if anyone had heard what she had just said.
